Grade Reporting

Please note that grades are usually updated and emailed after tests. Progress reports for students earning less than 70% are distributed mid-quarter and are also available upon request:

Dear Parents/Guardians of Calc CD and Calc D/Linear Algebra Students,

This is a note to explain how I will be communicating about grades throughout the year. I will not be using Aeries to maintain grades because Aeries does not do everything that I need it to do. I have another program that works very well and it allows me to e-mail updates individually.

Students usually turn in homework on test days. When I have updated grades after each exam, I will email "math grade updates" to the students. Your son or daughter may then share the grades with you or forward you the report through e-mail. I prefer to communicate directly with the students regarding grades because this is a college course.

However, if you would like your e-mail address to be added to your son's or daughter's grade report, send me an email message with that request and indicate what address you would like me to use. Be sure to include the name of your son/daughter as well. You are welcome to contact me any time that you would like an update or have questions regarding the course.

At the end of the semester, grades are issued directly to SDSU or MiraCosta College and will not appear on students' high school transcripts unless a student needs the credits for high school graduation.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please keep an eye out throughout the year for notes regarding our annual Math Open House. All of my students will be presenting at this amazing event near the end of the school year.
